Instructions
1. Prepare the cinder block wall for your paint and decorations. Wash the wall using a hose, if able, or simply use soap, water and a towel. Place putty in any cracks to smooth out the wall.
2. Use a primer intended for concrete surfaces and paint the entire wall of cinder blocks with at least two coats of the paint. Take time to complete this step with care because the amount of time you spend directly affects the quality of your finished paint job. Allow the primer to dry at least 24 hours.
3. Paint the entire wall using a chalkboard paint. Use a brush or roller, depending on your preference. Coat the wall with at least two coats to ensure that none of the primer shows through the paint. Allow this to dry at least 24 hours. Chalkboard paint comes in a variety of colors, including blue, pink, purple and brown, so find a color that matches your child's personality.
4. Provide your child with a variety of colored chalks and allow him to decorate the painted wall with images, words or phrases of his choice. Encourage him to be creative and write favorite quotes or draw his favorite activities using the provided chalk.
