Many people do not realize they are able pay significantly less for a house than what is being asked. All you have to do is learn haggle. This does not mean arguing with the seller of the house. Rather, use specific strategies to obtain the house for the price that you want.
Instructions
1. Never pay the asking price. Even if you are willing to pay this price for a house, you can always get it for less. This will let your seller know you are ready for negotiation.
2. Act surprised. Even if you do not think the offer is extremely high, act like it is. This will make the seller worry it is priced too high.
3. Ask for concessions. If the price is not decreasing, ask the seller to throw in appliances or furniture. Other popular seller concessions include the seller offering to cover appraisal fees, inspection fees and attorney fees, according to Quicken Loans. These types of concessions will effectively make the cost lower.
