Popular Living Room Fresh paint Colors

The walls of your family room should look inviting and cozy.

Your family room is a place where you and your family want to spend time together and bond. The walls of your family room should appear inviting and time-lasting, matching your present furniture and your furniture yet purchased. In this way the family room will become a room wherein your family will spend happy hours making memories.

Sage

Sage is an excellent choice for a family room because it's the perfect balance of laid back and sophisticated. While you may not want your family room to as formal as a great room or a dining room, you probably don't want the family room to look too casual either, lest it become an inappropriate space for company. Sage walks the line between homey and attractive. Sage is an ideal color for matching earth-toned furniture and makes a good alternative to a more neutral, less exciting choice like beige or gray.

Cream

Cream matches almost anything and is a warmer alternative to harsh, stark colors like white. Cream also creates a sense of luminosity and opens up dark rooms that don't see a lot of daylight. Cream creates a nice contrast when combined with darker colors of carpet and furniture, which you are possibly inclined to use in rooms where children spend a lot of time because darker colors show less wear and tear.

Sand and Beige

Sand and it's darker partner, beige, are favorite colors for family rooms because of their warm neutrality. These two shades add color without imposing a specific color scheme on a room. The colors will outlast decorating styles while adding a touch of sophistication to the room itself. These colors complement natural hardwoods and hardwood furniture like coffee tables and rocking chairs common in family rooms.

Color Combinations

Combinations of these colors like sage and cream, sand and beige, sand and cream, create a standard that can help you as you buy furniture and curtains appropriate for your family room. When combined, these colors become the basis for an entire decorating scheme.
