Fresh paint Names On The Wall

Several types of paintbrushes may be required depending on your project.

Painting names on walls is usually reserved for baby's and children's rooms. However, such wall decorations can also be added to game rooms or basements. Names on walls can be stand-alone pieces or part of a larger painting, such as names surrounded by balloon paints, names in the "clouds" or names surrounded by paintings of the person's favorite things. You can freehand name paintings if desired, or purchase a variety of letter stencils.

Instructions

1. Paint the entire wall before painting names. Allow it to dry. Painting around the names is more difficult than doing any base work and will most likely lead to more work since you will have to fix any paint that bleeds into the names.

2. Measure the wall space to ensure you have as much room as needed for the number of names you wish to paint on the wall.

3. Purchase large letter stenciling from a craft supply store, or use a ruler to draw the outline of the names with pencil. You may also freehand the outline of the names if you feel confident doing so. Outline the names in whatever form you enjoy, such as block lettering, bubble lettering or cursive.

4. Fill in the names with paint, or paint around the outline if the lettering is in cursive or other nonblock style. Allow to dry before adding additional patterns, designs, decals or other embellishments to the names. If using a stencil, spray paint can also be used.
