Selecting A Fresh paint Color In My Vehicle

Choosing a paint color for your car may be simply a matter of personal taste or a conscious decision to try to minimize or maximize the attention your car gets on the open road. We've all heard the red cars and black cars get stopped more often for speeding and anyone who's ever driven at dusk knows how hard it can be to see some of the gray and off white car's. But choosing a paint color for your car when you are restoring it is a different matter entirely. Many people with restored vehicles want them to be as close to the original as possible and that includes paint color.

Instructions

1. Start by visiting online resources (see Resources below). With this online library, you can find out the exact colors that were options for a specific model and year of car. The library offers specifics including paint names and detailed information about where the paint is available. The company offers paint manufactured to the specifications that were used the year your car was made.

2. Stop by a local auto shop and see what new paint colors are available for auto body work. Since automobile paint is different from house paint, make sure to explore the paint options currently available to find the best option as you choose to paint your car.

3. Check Car Paint online (see Resources) if you are trying to choose a paint to match the factory paint job for your car. For most vehicles, the specific paint color can be purchased as long as you know the make and model of the car as well as the year it was made and the original name of the color.

4. Decide what you are trying to accomplish in choosing a paint color for your car. While many people are looking for a color that is unique and will identify their car as being different from hundreds of others of the same model on the roads, other people are trying to find a color that blends is. If you are considering an unusual color, such as the shades of burnished orange which were popular recently, it might be a good idea to look at the resale value of unusually painted vehicles before committing to a unique color.

5. Consider the visibility of your car with its new paint job. Depending on where you live and the time of the year, some colors may be extremely difficult for other drivers to see. Choosing a paint color which makes your car less noticeable may mean people pull out in front of you more often or that your danger of being involved in an accident increases.
