Obtain A Fresh paint Stain From Vinyl Floors

Vinyl Flooring

Though you may thoroughly cover up the flooring and furniture before you begin painting, paint brush drips and bucket spills are still likely to happen. If you catch it right away removal is easy. If, however, you don't spot it until it becomes a full stain, the process becomes more tedious.

Instructions

1. Wipe up most of the wet paint with a paper towel. Use an old rag dipped in some soapy dish water to get up any left overs. You won't have to scrub hard if the stain is fresh.

2. Saturate an old cloth with rubbing alcohol. Press this over the paint stain for five minutes. If you don't want to hold it there you can put a brick or heavy paperweight over it. The stain should soften up so that you can wipe it away. Wash the paint away with the soapy water.

3. Use a plastic scraper to scrape the paint away. Don't use a razor because this can cut the actual vinyl surface. Once you scrape the paint off you can wipe the area down with some soapy dish water.

4. Apply a small amount of paint thinner to an old rag and work over the paint stain by moving in a circular motion. You may need to add a little more paint thinner after a few minutes.

5. Buy a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser from your local grocery store. Open the package and scrub over the paint stain. It won't take long and the paint stain will be completely gone.

6. Pour non-acetone fingernail polish remover over the paint. Let it sit for one minute and then wipe with an old rag. You may need to add more fingernail polish remover two or three times to get all the layers of paint up.
