Get Dried Acrylic Fresh paint Off Carpeting

Remove dried acrylic paint from carpet with vinegar, dish soap and acrylic paint remover.

A paint stain can cause you to panic, especially if you find it on your carpet, and doubly so if the paint has dried on your carpet and if it's acrylic paint. Removing dried acrylic paint can be a challenge. If you have dried acrylic paint on your carpet, you can remove it with supplies you have around your home. You may need to treat the stain several times to remove all of it from the carpet.

Instructions

1. Blot up any wet paint with paper towels. Although the stain may appear dry, it can still be slightly wet. Do not apply too much pressure or scrub the paint because you will spread the stain.

2. Scrape off any excess dry paint with a dull butter knife.

3. Apply an acrylic paint and varnish remover to the paint stain. Apply it starting at the outside of the pain stain and work your way toward the center.

4. Scrape the paint off the carpet with a butter knife as it softens.

5. Add 2 tbsp. of dishwashing soap to 1 qt. of warm water in a bowl. Blot the paint stain with the soapy water and a sponge. Tamp the stain by pressing down on it lightly.

6. Make a solution with 1 part white vinegar and 10 parts water if the stain still exists. Blot the stain with a washcloth.

7. Rinse the area with cold water. Soak up any excess water with a towel or wet/dry vacuum.
