Evaluate Which Color To Fresh paint Your Bed room

Discover what paint color works the best for your bedroom.

Your bedroom should be a haven, a place to go to unwind from the responsibilities of the day. Paint your room a color that reflects your personality and conveys a sense of relaxed calm. Turn your bedroom from a boring place to a comfortable oasis with a soothing hue. Learn what color palettes can help you make a bedroom of your dreams. From cool blues to warm reds and every color in between, find out which hues accurately reflect your style.

Instructions

1. Make a list of which colors you like. In a notebook, jot down the colors you find appealing and which colors do not look attractive. Get specific with color names. Research samples at paint and home improvement stores. Bring them home and mix and match to see which samples you like the most.

2. Decide on a color palette. Pick two or three coordinating color samples that you like on your list and set them next to each other. Tape the colors on your bedroom wall to get an idea of what the colors will look like in your bedroom.

3. Consider what feeling you are trying to evoke in your bedroom. Bright and bold colors such as bright red and orange convey a sense of passion and energy. Muted blues and soft greens convey a sense of relaxation. Neutral colors such as ivory, gray and taupe offer a mellow backdrop for bold-colored accessories. Find a color that matches the style you plan to decorate your room in.

4. Think about breaking up large walls with a two-toned color scheme. Pick two neutral or pastel hues to create diversion from a solid-colored wall. Pale blue and cream, lavender and gray or yellow with beige provide a coordinating wall look that is neutral but breaks the monotony. Incorporate the same colors in furniture and accessories to tie the theme together.

5. Paint potential color samples on the wall. Roll or brush a large square of the potential paint color on the wall to get a better idea of how the color will look. Allow the paint to dry for 24 hours. Paint often dries a shade or two darker than the original color. Compare the color with your other furniture pieces to make sure it matches with your style.
