Remove Fresh paint Stains From Vinyl

Vinyl is often found in residential and commercial buildings in the form of siding, flooring, and fencing. Remodeling and home improvement projects may result in unwanted paint dripping onto a vinyl surface. Removing paint from vinyl is a challenge but can be done with patience and a few items found at most hardware or home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowe's.

Instructions

1. Wipe down the vinyl with a cloth or rag to remove any surface dirt, dust, or other residue.

2. Pour lacquer thinner onto a nylon brush and apply to the painted stain. Allow the lacquer thinner to sit for 3 to 5 minutes to soften the paint. Don't allow the lacquer thinner to sit too long, or you will be left with long runs of thinner, messy paint, and possible wear on the vinyl.

3. Wipe the paint from the vinyl with a cloth or rag. Make sure to wipe in one direction rather than scrub away at the paint. Scrubbing will just smear the paint. You want to wipe the softened paint away; rubbing in one direction will accomplish this.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the paint is completely removed from the vinyl.

5. Wipe down the vinyl with a cloth moistened with water to remove the remaining residue from the paint.
