All a man cave in a garage really needs is comfortable seating, the biggest television you can fit in your garage and plenty of beer. However, if you want your man cave to be a reflection of your personality, achievements or love for a particular sports team, it's all about the decor. Channel your inner Martha Stewart, and take your man cave to the next level. With the right decor, your man cave will be the envy of all the guys in the neighborhood.
Instructions
1. Paint the garage walls in your favorite sports team colors. You could alternate the colors for each wall. Have a mural drawn of the team logo on an empty wall. You could also paint the room to create the atmosphere of your favorite sport. For example, you can have the floor painted to look like a football field, baseball field or basketball court. If wrestling is your favorite sport, hang red and blue ropes along each wall to make your man cave look like a wrestling ring.
2. Paint the garage in your favorite colors if you are not a sports fanatic. You can also paint the garage based on colors from your favorite movie or television show. If you are a fan of comedy television shows, you could hire an artist to paint a favorite character on one of your walls.
3. Display sentimental memorabilia on the shelves. Whether you were a star athlete in high school or you won your company's golf tournament last year, display any trophies, medals and plaques along the walls. Other items to display include signed jerseys from professional athletes, team banners and pictures of yourself with your best friends.
4. Hang posters around the room. Select posters from your favorite movies or television shows, particularly any classics. You can also hang classic "manly" portraits such as the famous "Dogs Playing Poker" painting.
5. Hang a neon beer sign next to the bar. A neon beer sign is an essential for the ideal man cave. You can buy old neon signs at garage sales, at online auctions and from private sellers.
