Wall Magic allows you to combine colors to create faux finishes.
A well-executed paint job can dramatically transform a room's atmosphere, making the most cold and uninviting space seem warm and welcoming. Wall Magic is a home interiors painting kit that allows you to create ordinarily difficult faux finishes that normally require lots of time, experience and skill. However, to use the kit successfully, you will need to familiarize yourself comprehensively with the appropriate techniques.
Instructions
1. Examine your walls carefully. Fill any holes with spackle using a putty knife. Sand them down with 100-grit sandpaper to create a smooth finish. Cover furniture with dropcloths and apply painter's tape to the baseboard, window frames, molding and crown. Prime the walls with latex-based primer, using a standard paint roller. Allow it to dry completely.
2. Use two latex paint colors that are different shades of the same color. For example, you can use hunter green and evergreen. Pour each color into one side of the split tray. Dip your dual roller into the tray and roll on the two colors.
3. Apply your roller to the wall, making a curvy, swirly, rolling movement. Make crisscrosses, turns and arches, getting the paint to overlap. Step back now and then to assess your progress and add more color or paint to areas in need.
4. Edge your dual roller to the edges of the wall and corners, apply painting where necessary. Flip over the roller to blend in paint of your opposite color.
