Several options match the traditional feel of a brick exterior, but you can spice up the look of your home by choosing a bolder shade that complements the tones in your brick.
Neutrals
No matter what color brick your exterior is, a neutral paint shade is a foolproof option. Crisp white trim works well with classic red brick for a traditional look, but is an attractive pairing with pink, brown, gray or beige brick as well. A cream-colored paint offers a warmer look for your home's exterior trim, and suits all brick colors as well. Contrasting Colors
In color theory, shades that are opposite one another on the color wheel are considered complementary. You can take this approach to choosing a paint color for your brick home and select a color that is opposite the tones in your brick. For example, green is an ideal trim color for a red brick house because of the contrast on another on the color wheel. However, to avoid giving your house a Christmas tree look, stay away from bright Kelly greens and opt for a darker gray-green instead. If your brick has a yellow cast, try a gray purple shade for the trim. For brick with orange-based red or rust colored brick, try a dark blue trim to give your exterior a striking look.
