How See The House Online Via Satellite

Satellite home views at your fingertips online.

Thanks to the merging of satellite and Internet technology, you can easily view a satellite image of your house in a number of ways with just a few clicks of your mouse. Satellite images are not live, so if you plan to ask a friend to check out your home's new paint color by one of these methods, you might want to look it up first to see if your satellite view is up-to-date.

Instructions

Google Maps

1. Launch "Google Maps" in your Web browser.

2. Type your address (or any address you'd like to view) into the text box at the top of the page. Use the exact address whenever possible, including city, state and zip, to pinpoint the exact location.

3. Click on "Search Maps." A map view of the address will appear.

4. Click on "Satellite" at the top of the map. A satellite view of the address will appear.

5. Use the "+" and "-" buttons or the scroll bar on the left of the satellite view to zoom in and out.

6. Click and drag the "Person" icon on the left of the satellite view to the "A" icon, pinpointing the address for a street view. Then click and drag your mouse anywhere on the street view to rotate the perspective and even move the view up or down the street.

Yahoo!Maps

7. Launch "Yahoo!Maps" in your Web browser.

8. Type your address (or any address you'd like to view) into the text box labeled "A" under the "Get Map and Directions" heading. Use the exact address whenever possible, including city, state and zip, to pinpoint the exact location.

9. Click on "Go." A map view of the address will appear.

10. Click on "Satellite" at the top of the map. A satellite view of the address will appear.

11. Use the "+" and "-" buttons or the scroll bar on the left of the satellite view to zoom in and out.

Bing Maps

12. Launch "Bing Maps" in your Web browser.

13. Type your address (or any address you'd like to view) into the text box at the top of the page next to the Bing logo. Use the exact address whenever possible, including city, state and zip, to pinpoint the exact location.

14. Click on the "Magnifying Glass" icon on the right of the text box. A map view of the address will appear.

15. Click on "Aerial" at the top of the map, then click on "Aerial" again for an overhead satellite view or "Bird's eye" for a closer satellite street view.

16. Use the "+" and "-" buttons on the left of the satellite view to zoom in and out. Use the circular "Arrow" buttons to rotate the view.
