Clean Acrylic Fresh paint From Jeans

Remove acrylic paint from jeans to restore them to their original condition.

If you accidentally get acrylic paint on your jeans, you may think that you will never be able to wear them again. Instead of throwing the jeans away or storing them in your closet, you can salvage them with items in your home. Removing the paint stain as quickly as possible may help remove it completely and make your jeans wearable again.

Instructions

1. Blot any wet paint carefully with paper towels. Avoid pressing down too hard or you will push it down into the fibers. Rinse the paint stain with running water to remove as much of it as possible.

2. Remove dried acrylic paint from the jeans with a dull butter knife. Scrape the paint carefully to prevent tearing the material.

3. Run warm water over the acrylic paint. Rub the paint off the jeans with your fingers while it runs under the warm water.

4. Place a washcloth or a stack of paper towels under the paint stain. It needs to be placed directly under the stain because the paint can transfer to the other side of the jeans.

5. Dampen a washcloth with rubbing alcohol. Blot the acrylic paint with the damp washcloth. Scrub on the paint stain with an old toothbrush to loosen it from the fibers.

6. Rinse the area with warm running water. Place the jeans into the washing machine.

7. Wash the jeans according to the care label. Repeat the stain removal process if you still notice some remaining paint.
