Choose Laura Ashley Fresh paint Colors

Paint chips, or samples, give you an idea of what the paint looks like on a wall.

Laura Ashley, originally a women's clothing designer, began manufacturing paint some years ago to match their home furnishings line, and now offers over 285 colors. Choosing paint can be a stressful experience, especially for indecisive types, but taking the time to think out the decision is better than making it an impulse buy. You want paint that complements your decor, not overwhelms it. Since this paint is only available through one retailer, you will have to purchase Laura Ashley paint online if you can't get to the store.

Instructions

1. Visit the nearest Lowes home center to browse the current color palette offerings from Laura Ashley paints. Lowes is the only retailer selling Laua Ashley paints.

2. Browse all the Laura Ashley paint chips--there are more than 285 available--and narrow down your options. Gather paint chips in any hue that interests you.

3. Bring the samples home and tape them to the wall in the room you intend to paint. Evaluate the colors in natural light, in bright sunlight (if that room gets sunlight), and in artificial lighting. Ask other family members or friends what they think of the colors. Use this research to narrow down your Laura Ashley paint selections.

4. Consider how potential colors complement your furniture and blend with the color palette throughout your house. Compare paint samples with furniture by holding each chip against the rug or chair to see if it matches. A subtle clash in colors will be magnified once you've painted the room, so checking these things now prevents you from having to redo or move furniture if it looks bad.

5. Select your Laura Ashley color once you've considered your needs, your preference and the paint's ability to blend into your home design.

6. Return to Lowes to purchase the paint. Buy as many gallons as you anticipate needing (typically 1 to 2 for a single room) to avoid having to return later.
