Airless and air spray painters are both effective ways to paint walls in a quick and efficient way. They will save a lot of time and effort because of the smooth coverage they provide. Often only one coat will be needed when using these machines. There are a few small differences between the two machines.
Air Spray
Air spray paint is an low pressure way of evenly painting walls. This method allows a person to cover large areas of wall in much less time than using brushes or rollers. Airless sprayers are also called high-volume, low pressure sprayers. The low pressure these machines deliver make sure that there is not much splatter when the paint is put on the wall. Also, large amounts of paint and thicker materials can be used for this, however, the low pressure makes is a good choice for stains and finishes.
Airless Sprayers
Airless sprayers are an easy tool for people who want to paint their own walls to use. Airless sprayers paint walls quickly; however, they use pumps to deliver the paint under high pressure. This high-pressure delivery makes over-spraying a factor. To remedy this, simply go over detailed areas, like windows and doors, with a paint brush.
Advantages
Air sprayers will create even finishes without splattering paint. This ensures that little paint is wasted and other already painted areas are not ruined. Airless sprayers come in many different sizes, which makes them easy for people to use in their own homes. Both of these sprayers deliver even coats of paint to textured and non-textured surfaces.
Disadvantages
Some disadvantages are that both of these painters need to be cleaned immediately after used. If the paint dries on any of the components, that part will most likely need to be replaced. Also, one disadvantage of the airless sprayer is that it can be potentially dangerous. The spray is so high pressure that if something like a finger gets in the way of the spray it is possible that the paint will become embedded in the finger.
Considerations
These machines are typically plugged in and not wireless so make sure your cord will reach as high as the area you are going to paint. Some sprayers have the paint in a canister and some have tubes that go down into the paint can. You can find battery-operated versions, however, the battery life is not very long. You can find comparable prices for bout airless and air sprayers.
