Choose Bathroom Towel Colors

Just because they're bathroom essentials doesn't mean that your bath and hand towels can't be decorative, as well. Choose their colors based on these factors that will also help them last longer, be more versatile and express your personal style.

Instructions

1. Create a coordinated look by matching or complementing your towels with a highlight color that you pick from the bathroom's wallpaper, border, shower curtain or a design on the tile or countertop backsplash, for example.

2. Find colors that complement the decorating theme of your bathroom. If you're going for a beach-style decor, for example, consider crisp white, aqua or beige. If you're decorating a kids' bathroom consider more playful colors like lime green, sunny yellows and pinks.

3. Add color to a plain bathroom with towels in vibrant hues. Combine shades by layering a hand towel that matches the wall with a brighter bath towel beneath it. Buy towels that you can mix and match in different bathrooms for new looks without added purchases.

4. Get towels in neutral colors or lighter shades if you're concerned about bright towels fading in the wash. White, ivory and beige are also good choices if you're planning to redecorate your bathroom but are still unsure of the colors you might choose.

5. Buy plain white towels to get the most for your money. Not only will they match most bathrooms and evoke a clean, spa-like feel, but you can also bleach them to maintain the crisp look even after years of use.

6. Look for seasonal colors if you like to decorate your house for the holidays. Try rich combinations like dusty pinks and beiges for Valentine's Day, cranberry and sage green for Christmas or white and an assortment of blues for the Fourth of July.
