Vinyl siding is a type of home exterior material that is durable, long-lasting and simple to maintain. Homeowners often decide to repaint vinyl siding, for home improvement reasons. Before repainting, the old, chipping paint must be removed from the vinyl siding. Occasional mishaps also occur when paint splatters and transfers onto vinyl siding, requiring removal. Whatever the reason is for paint removal, there are effective supplies for safely removing paint from vinyl siding.
Instructions
1. Scrape off the paint, using a plastic paint scraper. Apply light pressure to the scraper, to prevent damage to the siding.
2. Spray the siding with water from a garden hose, to rinse off the paint chips. Inspect the siding for remaining paint.
3. Apply paint thinner to a clean cloth. Gently rub the cloth over the paint-stained siding. Continue rubbing paint thinner over the siding, until the paint is completely removed. Rinse the siding thoroughly with the garden hose, to remove paint thinner residue.
4. Dry the siding with a clean towel. Repeat the entire process if some paint remains on the siding.
