Remodeling Suggestions For My Mobile Houses

Ideas to remodel mobile homes.

Remodeling mobile homes may increase the value of your properties. If you rent your mobile homes, remodeling may provide you an option to request a higher rent amount from your tenants. Perhaps you want a modern feel and look to an older mobile home. Remodeling the home provides this.

Drywall

Install drywall directly over the paneling in your mobile homes. This creates less labor than if you remove the paneling and electrical outlets. It also does not require as much clean up compared with removing the paneling. Installing drywall creates a brighter, fresh feel to the rooms, replacing the dark feel and look paneling can create. Quarter-inch drywall should be used for the weight requirements of a mobile home.

Appliances

Remove the old appliances in your mobile homes and install new appliances. Installing new appliances adds value to the mobile homes, and updates the room. New appliances are more energy-efficient than old appliances, and do not cost as much to operate. If your mobile homes have green or yellow appliances, replacing them with newer white or stainless-steel appliances provides a vastly updated look.

Paint

Paint the interiors and exteriors of your mobile homes. Painting the inside of the mobile homes creates a fresh, new look and feel to the home without great expense. Applying paint to the exterior adds curb appeal and protects the home from weather. Exterior paint protects the wood from rotting around the windowsills and fascia boards.

Flooring

Remodel the flooring in your mobile homes by removing the old flooring and laying new. Floating floor is best for mobile homes, if you like the wood look. The wood does not attach to the walls and allows for expansion and contraction through the seasons. Floating floor does not buckle and break as hardwood floors occasionally do.

Doors

The first thing a guest sees when arriving at your home is the exterior doors. For a renewed look, replace all exterior doors, front and back. This improvement also will help seal out drafts Front and back doors for mobile homes come in a variety of colors and sizes. If you find an exterior door you like but the dimensions don't match your mobile home, you can have the door cut to your dimensions.

Deck

Build a deck to add curb appeal to the home while providing an area to barbecue and entertain guests. Lumber for such a project can be found in different colors and materials. One is compost boards. Compost boards do not need painting nor require maintenance and they come in several colors to help match the exteriors of your mobile homes.
