Use A Faux Blown Suede Look

Faux painting is a great way to liven up the walls in your house. Doing it yourself rather than hiring out is an inexpensive route to take. Kits with everything you need can be purchased at your local home improvement store.

Instructions

1. Tint a flat latex paint to be just a little bit lighter than the color of the suede paint. Instead of using two coats of suede paint, use one coat of the flat latex paint as a base coat and one coat of the suede paint over the top.

2. Trim out the room by putting edging tape around the edges of the door frames, windows or any other areas that won't be painted. This will keep those areas from getting paint on them.

3. Apply the base coat of paint. Shake the flat latex paint being used for the base coat. Use your brush and dip it into the paint can, or pour the paint into a paint tray and use a paint roller. Using a paint roller will allow the paint to go on faster. Allow the base coat to dry according to the directions on the paint can.

4. Paint the walls with the suede paint using short intersecting arcs and crisscrosses. Paint in 4 by 4 foot sections and do not distinguish the borders clearly in order to merge the sections together.
