Remove Latex Fresh paint From Vinyl Siding

Vinyl siding is one of the most durable forms of exterior siding that you can purchase.

Latex paint is a water-based paint that provides a durable coating that can stick to poorly prepared surfaces. Vinyl siding is made up of a form of PVC plastic, which makes the material weather resistant and extremely durable to the elements and daily wear and tear. Since vinyl siding is a non-porous surface that also can provide grooves for the paint to stick to the latex paint can quite literally be peeled off.

Instructions

1. Scrape the latex paint gently with the plastic putty knife to get a starting point in the paint on the vinyl siding. The plastic will not harm the vinyl siding like a metal putty knife would.

2. Keep scraping until the latex paint begins to peel away; put your finger under the paint and pull it off of the vinyl siding.

3. Spray the exposed vinyl siding with the vinyl siding cleaner. If you do not have a specified vinyl siding cleaner, you can use a multipurpose cleaner.

4. Scrub the area with the sponge and rinse the area with clean water.
