The Easiest Method To Fresh paint A Concrete Floor

Paint your concrete floor

Concrete is a durable and versatile material, but it is also very bland looking. Often, homeowners choose to paint concrete floors to add a certain degree of personality. Painting concrete, however, is not like painting wallboard. Concrete needs extra attention to properly hold paint well. By adequately preparing the surface, you will ensure the paint's longevity.

Instructions

1. Clear the floor of all removable objects.

2. Sweep the floor to remove debris and dirt.

3. Power wash the floor to provide a final cleaning. Let the floor dry completely before continuing.

4. Load the caulking gun with concrete caulk. Cut the tip of the tube at a 45-degree angle and fill cracks larger than 1/2 inch.

5. Smooth caulk with a putty knife and let dry for 4 hours before beginning the sealing process.

6. Fill a paint tray with concrete sealer and put on a single even coat of sealer with a paint roller. The sealer should dry for 24 hours before you prime the surface.

7. Next put on a single even coat of primer with a roller. Allow it to dry for 24 hours before applying paint.

8. Apply concrete paint with a roller. Wait 48 hours before using the surface.
