Remove Acrylic Interior Fresh paint From The Colored Surface

Acrylic paint can be removed with warm water and a little elbow grease.

Acrylic interior paint is used for many different purposes, from decorating art projects to painting walls. Occasionally when painting, you may get acrylic paint onto another surface that has been painted. Fortunately, acrylic paint is water soluble, which means with a water solution and a little bit of scrubbing, you should be able to remove the unwanted acrylic paint.

Instructions

1. Wipe the area with warm water and a clean cloth if you have just accidentally painted acrylic paint into another painted surface. You may be able to simply wipe the accidental paint coating away if it has not yet dried.

2. For dried paint, mix 2 parts white vinegar with 2 parts ammonia and 1 part salt in a bowl or cup.

3. Dip a sponge or soft cloth into the cleaning solution.

4. Scrub the area where you want to remove the acrylic paint gently at first. If you need to scrub harder with the sponge or cloth, do so, but be mindful that you don't want to remove or scratch the other painted surface.

5. Apply a tablespoon of clear alcohol to another sponge or cloth if the water solution or the mixture of vinegar and ammonia do not work. Scrub the area again with the alcohol until the acrylic paint is gone.
