Awesome Fresh paint Approaches For Gold Fresh paint

Gold metallic paint can be incorporated into faux finish techniques

Gold paint can be used to add reflection and texture to interior surfaces. Metallic paint is made up of tiny mica flakes; paint projects commonly will need several layers of paint. Light must be visible in a room to properly reflect the mica in gold paint. A variety of metallic paints in various shades of gold can be purchased at home improvement centers and craft stores. Paint can be sprayed, brushed or rolled on depending on technique.

Glazing

Glazing a gold wall results in an aged, muted look. Several layers of gold paint are applied over a dark base coat, often black or brown acrylic paint. The dark base coat is required for most metallic applications because metallic paint is translucent. Use a glaze mixed with latex paint to antique the surface. Glaze can be applied with rags, newspaper or plastic bags.

Crackle

Crackled paint treatments appear as if the paint has aged and is peeling. A base coat of any color can be used with gold applied over the top that has cracked. Another option is to apply a solid coating of gold first, and then apply a different color as a topcoat. The topcoat will reveal subtle hints of gold that can be seen under the cracked paint.

Dry Brush

Using a dry brush, very lightly dip into gold paint. The brush should not be saturated. Apply the metallic paint to high and low areas of architectural pieces such as trim and ceiling medallions.

Plaster with Embedded Gold

Apply plaster onto a wall using a trowel. The plaster can be mica-based reflective plaster commonly found from decorative paint manufacturers such as Faux Effects or Modern Masters. Add drops of gold onto the trowel to mix and merge with the plaster. The finished look will mimic stone with gold highlights.

Stripes and geometric shapes

Incorporate gold and metallics when painting geometric shapes and designs. Stripes can be painted vertically or horizontally in a variety of sizes. Large geometric squares in different gold shades can be added to an accent wall.
