Do-it-yourself Wall Decor For Any Man'S House

Creating masculine wall decorations can easily be done at home. The most important part of creating wall decor for a man's house, is incorporating the man's personality and style. Take into consideration the color of the room, hobbies, and likes. There are a variety of decorations you can choose to make for your wall like photos, canvas, and monogram letters or words.

Instructions

Photographs

1. Select your favorite pictures of places, sporting events, friends or family. If you want larger pictures - 8x10 or larger - choose three photos, and if you choose smaller pictures - 4x6 or smaller - choose six or more.

2. Print the pictures in black and white in the size that you like.

3. Place the photographs into monochromatic frames and arrange them in a line or square to create one large piece of wall art. Hang them on the wall by hammering in a nail, and hanging the frames on each nail.

Painted Canvas

4. Choose two paint colors that complement the color of the room. One should be bright and one should be muted.

5. Paint three of the canvases with the more muted color and one with a brighter color so that it pops. Allow the canvas to dry.

6. Staple the hanging wire to each of the canvases, on the wooden frame.

7. Hang the canvas with two of the same colored canvases on the bottom and the remaining two canvases on top. This will create a modern and original piece of art for your wall.

Fabric Wall Art

8. Select a fabric in a print and color that matches the decor and style of your house. Have the fabric cut 1.5 inches larger on each side, than the dimensions of the wooden frame.

9. Staple the fabric to the right side of the wooden frame. Stretch the fabric to the left side until it is tight and then staple to the wooden frame.

10. Fold the top left hand corner of the fabric over and pull the top of the fabric tight and staple. Repeat by folding the right corner, pulling the fabric tight and stapling. Then staple along the top of the back of the wooden frame.

11. Repeat step 3 with the bottom.

12. Hang the wooden frame and fabric using a nail.

Monogram letters

13. Choose a letter or word that you would like to display on your wall.

14. Spray paint the letters with either a metallic paint or another color that matches your other decor. Allow the paint to dry and then paint the back of the letters.

15. Staple hanging wire to the back of each letter, so that it is not visible. Hang the letter, or letters, on the wall using a nail.
