Wall Fresh paint Colors For Beach Houses

Choose colors that create the best environment for your personality.

Embrace the coastal scenery around your beach house by mimicking the colors, textures and decor accents that remind you of the soft rolling waves, golden flecks of sand and cream-colored seashells seen within a short distance from the house. Focus on featuring two or more main colors throughout the house and choose decorative beach accents that blend well with your color scheme. The end result creates a peaceful beach home that highlights the joys that surround it.

Blues with White

Blue and white create a good combination in a beach house because these colors have a clean, yet classic beach feel. Focus on featuring one main shade of blue, such as baby blue, with white accents or decorate with a combination of blue shades along with white elements such as white lacy curtains, white orchid silk flowers, white vases and picture frames with white borders. You can also paint the walls white and then decorate with both blue and white decor. Baby blue walls with a white flower border would work well in a room decorated with coastal flowers. Choose blue if you plan on featuring miniature lighthouses, little boats, lifesaver floats and other nautical decor in the house.

Neutral Colors

Stick with more neutral shades if you want something that blends better with modern beach decor. Neutral colors such as beige, tan or peach blend well with all sorts of beach decor such as peach seashells, pictures of sunsets and ocean treasures. These colors have a light, yet modern, feel which makes them easy to work with. Feature peach, white and yellow silk roses in a neutral beach room.

Bright Colors

Some bright colors can also work as wall paint selections for a beach house. "Country Living" magazine recommends having fun with colors such as bright turquoise, contrasted with bold yellow accents throughout the room. You can paint a turquoise wall and then feature a bright yellow starfish border around the room. Or, you can get really funky and paint one wall turquoise and another adjoining wall yellow and repeat this pattern throughout the room. Other bright colors, such as lime green and orange, can also work in a beach home. Color selection also depends on the decor you choose. Choose bright colors if you want a funky, colorful beach house with odd or interesting decor. Brightly colored cobalt blue, purple and red bottles with corks blend well with bright walls. You can fill some of these bottles with sand and place them on shelves.

Other Pastel Shades

Other pastel colors also blend well with decor seen in a beach house. These colors have a light, peaceful feel that can make your beach house more enjoyable. Choose lavender paired with white and other pastel colors if you enjoy decorating with lavender flowers and other purple accents. Pastel yellow has a soft, clean, yet warm feel and other shades such as pastel green or even light pink can work in a beach house, depending on the decor you select.
