Decorate Just One Man'S Bed room With taste

Create a masculine bedroom for a single man.

Avoid typical bachelor pad stereotypes, such as neon beer signs and posters of attractive women, when you begin decorating a single man's bedroom. The bedroom should be decorated simply and tastefully with a masculine edge. Create a bedroom that shows off his personality and style, but that is also inviting to the opposite sex. Make sure that the room is devoid of clutter, which will help all of the design elements you choose stand out much better.

Instructions

1. Select the color scheme you will use in the bedroom. Incorporate several neutral colors into the room, such as taupe, ivory and black. Another option is to use several different shades of brown. If you choose neutrals, add pops of another color, such as blue or a deep green. Painting the walls in a neutral color will not overwhelm the room.

2. Place a low platform bed with a large rectangular headboard in the space. Choose a rich, dark finish for the bed. Add other furniture to the room that coordinates with the bed. Select matching bedside tables, a dresser and a chair. Choose furniture with clean, simple lines so that it does not look too fussy.

3. Place crisp white sheets with a high thread count on the bed, along with a simple white comforter. Add a lot of white pillows to the bed. Place a few pillows in another color, such as blue, green or red, on the bed, as well, to give it a pop of color.

4. Place simple white curtains on the windows. Curtains made of a thick cotton look more masculine than sheer or lacy curtains. They also block sunlight if the man prefers sleeping in.

5. Choose modern lamps with clean lines for the bedside tables. Add an overhead light that gives off warm, low light. You do not want the lighting in the bedroom to be too bright, so that it will seem like a relaxing sanctuary.

6. Place your television, DVD player or any other entertainment electronics inside a cabinet so that they don't show when you aren't using them.

7. Place simple pieces of art on the walls. Choose a painted picture of a building on the campus of the man's alma mater or a black and white picture of his favorite pet. Pictures from his favorite vacation destination are also appropriate. Avoid placing pictures of old girlfriends on the walls or the bedside tables, especially if the single man plans to start dating.

8. Clear all of the tabletops and other areas of the room of clutter. If he has trouble keeping the areas clutter-free, add an attractive basket or bowl in which he can place loose change, keys, receipts and other items that he typically might leave on the top of a piece of furniture.
