Powder coat paint is often used on cars, motorcycles and boats due to its durable and scratch-resistant finish. Powder coat is applied with a sprayer, or the item may be lowered into an electrostatically charged paint bath. The paint is then baked onto the item, forming a hard finish. While powder coat doesn't usually fade or crack, it does require special care to maintain its durable finish. Clean powder coated items every six months or more often to keep them looking their best.
Instructions
1. Spray the powder coated item with a garden hose to rinse off any loose dirt or debris.
2. Fill a bucket with 1 gallon warm water and mild detergent, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Dip a sponge or cloth into the soapy water, and wring it out. Wipe the powder coat surface with the sponge or cloth, starting at the top and working your way down. Rinse the cloth or sponge in the bucket as needed.
4. Spray the powder coated item with a garden hose to rinse off any detergent residue.
5. Dry the powder coated item with a clean towel.
