You don't have to live with those outdated wall panels. Remove panels attached to modular home wall boards to replace them, or work on the underlying sub-wall. Holes and dents are common panelling damages. If you don't mind the look of an uneven wall, a new panel can be installed over the old piece. Finish nails hold the panel to the wall boards behind it. Vertical and horizontal trim pieces hide the edges of the panel to give the wall a finished look.
Instructions
1. Slide the flat tip of a pry bar beneath the edges of the pieces of trim around the panel. Tap the head of the pry bar with a hammer to get it under the trim. Push the handle of the pry bar toward the wall to get the trim to lift off. Keep prying until you pull the nails out of the underlying wall board.
2. Angle the pry bar beneath the edges of the panel. Pry the panel edges away from the wall.
3. Grab a free edge of the panel with your hands and remove it from the wall by pulling on it. Some of the nails may pull through the panel and remain in the wall boards. Pull these out with a pair of pliers.
