Compressed gas carries spray paint through the air and onto an item you're painting.
During the process of spray painting an item, you can accidentally get paint on your tile floor. If the paint is still wet, you can dab it up with a dampened paper towel. But most spray paint dries rather quickly, meaning you will need more than water and a paper towel to remove it. Fortunately, tile is an easy surface from which to remove paint, and the job does not require strong chemical strippers.
Instructions
Denatured Alcohol
1. Dampen a paper towel or cotton ball with denatured alcohol.
2. Dab the dampened paper towel or cotton ball on the paint. Do not rub, as this can cause the paint to spread. Continue dabbing until the paint has lifted.
3. Spray an all-purpose cleaner or tile cleaner over the area. Wipe the cleaner from the tile with a dampened cloth to remove all alcohol residue.
Paint-Removing Spray
4. Use a paint-removing spray that's safe on tile. Information on the can will tell you if you can use the specific paint-removing spray you're considering. The can may say the spray's safe to use on ceramics and stone. If your tile is stone such as granite or marble, the product is safe.
5. Allow the removing spray to sit on the paint for 60 seconds. This gives it time to dissolve the stain.
6. Wipe the spray and paint away, using a water-dampened paper towel. Repeat until all of the spray paint has been removed.
7. Spray an all-purpose cleaner or tile cleaner over the area. Wipe the cleaner from the tile with a dampened cloth to remove all remaining residue.
