Instructions
1. Walk around your backyard and pick up smooth, oval-shaped rocks that look like fish. Palm-sized rocks with smooth surfaces are best for displaying your images.
2. Scrub the rocks clean with dish soap, warm water and a toothbrush. Let the rocks dry completely.
3. Sketch an image of a fish onto your rock with a pencil, using a photo as a guide. Draw protruding features like fins and tail to the edge of the rock face. The drawing should entirely cover the visible surface.
4. Paint large sections of the body with a medium-width brush and acrylic paint. Let the rock dry.
5. Paint the sides of the rock and empty spaces between the fins and tail with a dark color. This will provide a border for your fish image. Let the rock dry.
6. Paint the smaller sections and details such as eyes, scale patterns and dots with a small detailing brush. Let the rock dry.
