Choose Nursery Fresh paint Colors

Choose Nursery Paint Colors

The color you choose for your baby's nursery depends on a lot of factors, including the baby's gender, your personality, the feelings you want to instill in your baby and the accessories, furniture and toys you have chosen. It's best to stick with soothing colors to help the baby sleep, but that still leaves a lot of options that can be overwhelming for new or soon-to-be parents. Fortunately, there are a few steps that can help you choose a color.

Instructions

1. Consider whether your child has any special conditions that would call for particular colors. If your ultrasounds have indicated any potential medical conditions, blue is good because it encourages healing, according to naturalhomemagazine.com. Pink is good for children born into turbulent situations because evokes feelings of love.

2. Consider the atmosphere of your house and tailor your choices accordingly. Green is peaceful and is good for homes in busy, crowded neighborhoods. If the nursery is in an area of the house that doesn't get much sunlight, incorporate yellow into the room to brighten it up.

3. Examine the colors in the hallway and rooms closest to the nursery and choose complementary colors. If your rooms are all white, you may choose to leave the nursery white and paint the trim with accenting colors. If you've chosen decor with deep hues and accenting pastels, you may choose to bring those pastel colors into the nursery or paint the nursery with a complementing color.

4. Examine any furniture you want to use in the nursery. If the furniture is brightly painted, select more subtle colors for the walls so the room doesn't look too jumbled. If the furniture is white, choose brighter colors for the walls so the room doesn't look sterile.

5. Consider any themes you want the nursery to have. If someone has given you a particularly meaningful toy set that you want to display in the room, draw color inspiration from that. For example, a lot of people choose to display Winnie the Pooh toys and incorporate Pooh's bright yellow, Piglet's soft pink and Eeyore's subtle purple into the room's colors.
