Modern Interior Fresh paint Colors

Modern interior paint focuses on creating open, clean spaces.

The goal of most modern interior paint colors is to create open spaces, clean lines and natural, relaxed environments. The specific colors you choose to decorate with depends on your tastes and the color scheme of your existing furniture. If you're starting from scratch and you have no furniture yet, pay a visit to a local paint store to pick out a variety of swatches from across the spectrum to help you make your decision.

Bright and Bold

Use a bright splash of color to bring together your decorating scheme if you feel brave enough to make that kind of statement. Colors like clear green, deep orange or poppy red are all very modern and work in a room with neutral, white or light-colored furniture to break up the space. If you're set on using one of these bright colors but you're afraid to take the plunge and cover all four walls, consider painting a bright color on one wall and a neutral or white on the remaining three.

Neutral Colors

Neutrals are usually light colors like blue, beige, khaki and green, that have been mixed with gray. These colors seem to change when placed against furniture of a more definite color. Neutrals are useful because they create a blank canvas for your interior decorating scheme, and, as you add more furniture and accessories, your walls will never clash or compete. Neutrals open up the space in your room and are especially appropriate in small rooms.

Soft Pastels

Soft pastels like baby blue, light green and gentle gold will open up your space, create a sense of light, and add a cheerful quality to your interiors. These colors are especially appropriate in small rooms like bathrooms. Avoid pastel colors like pink and peach, which can actually prove overwhelming and a little stifling.
