Fresh paint Cabinets

Painting kitchen cabinets is relatively easy and can really give your entire kitchen a new and updated look. If you take your time, your kitchen cabinets will look like they are brand new, no matter how old they may actually be.


Instructions


1. Use a screwdriver to remove the cabinet doors at the hinges.


2. Remove the hinges completely and store in a safe place.


3. Remove the metal fixtures.


4. Use a sander to remove excess old paint.


5. Tape off the cabinets so you don't get paint on your walls.


6. Prime the cabinets and doors with a base coat in a color slightly lighter than your final color if necessary.


7. Paint your cabinets and doors the final colors with even strokes.


8. Clean up drips as they appear, these will be harder to remove if you allow them to dry.


9. Apply a second coat if needed or touch up missed spots.


10. Allow cabinets and doors to dry completely.


11. Affix your metal fixtures to their original places the reattach the doors.
