At Design Your Wall, you create your own wallpaper via an in-house design facility that can convert illustrations, paintings and photos into wallpaper. Design Your Wall says that the best sources to create wallpaper from are original paintings, slides, negatives and photos that are 4x6 or larger. The image can be shipped directly to Design Your Wall or submitted digitally. If you're not sure whether a particular image will work as wallpaper, Design Your Wall will review it and send you a sample. Costs as of 2010 are $6.50 per square foot (there is a 30-square-foot minimum) for wallpaper and murals, and $10.50 per square foot for borders.
MegaPrint
Graphics and printing company MegaPrint offers custom-designed wallpaper for homes and businesses. The company can convert artwork and photographs to floor-to-ceiling murals or custom wallpaper, as long as a digital file of 72 to 100 dpi is provided. MegaPrint caters to corporate and private clients. Prices as of 2010 range from $6.25 to $8.75 per square foot, and all orders can be shipped for next-day delivery.
Totally Custom Wallpaper
If you want to create custom wallpaper but don't have a particular image or photo in mind, try Totally Custom Wallpaper. The design website allows customers to create their own wallpaper using an online tool that helps them select pattern and color combinations. The website will guide you, allowing you to select a design from over 30 options. Specify your wall size, and choose your color scheme from a variety of palettes. Canadian-based wallpaper design company Rollout Custom Wallpaper specializes in trendy and eclectic custom wallpaper patterns. Rollout has worked with clients like Baccarat, Microsoft Zune and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and features designers such as Lullatone, Kelly Deck and Jonathan Twilight Orr. They will create a custom design based on your specifications or print your own designs and images, and all of their printing is done digitally on premium latex-based paper to ensure the highest quality.

Another company that allows you to design your own wallpaper online or create your own paper out of artwork or photographs is Great Wall Custom Coverings. Located in Michigan, Great Wall allows customers to choose their own combination of original designs or to submit digital images that can then be turned into wallpaper. Just upload an image, specify your wall size, and Great Wall will send you a sample for approval along with a pricing guide.
