Beach House Interior Colors

A beach house should be painted specific colors to reflect the mood of the area.

When choosing colors to paint any interior the psychology, the color will convey and the tone you want to give the place you are painting must be taken into account. For a beach house, where people go to relax and get away from their everyday lives, certain brighter colors should be used on the walls and the ceiling.

Blue

Blue, like the ocean to the sky, is one of the most prevalent colors in our everyday lives and is therefore one of the most relaxing. This makes an excellent beach house color, as it is pleasing to both genders. It is known to soothe, relax and make people feel more spiritual and centered, according to demesne.info. It is an excellent color for bedrooms or living rooms, and is also known to help improve concentration. They are also known to work well in bathrooms and laundry areas, though not so well for kitchens, which may be due to "our primitivel instincts to avoid blue foods," demense.info says.

Green

Like blue, green is a soothing color, as it is found in nature in numerous different shades. This color is known to calm and relax, according to demesne.info, and is considered a healing color. Olive and sage greens are the most appealing as they are relatively neutral in their color intensity. Dark greens are a bit more focused and are good for bedrooms or offices in a beach house. Lighter greens are perfect for the living room or the kitchens of beach houses, as they are relaxed and bright, making you feel right at home when you are surrounded by them.

Orange

Known as an inviting color, orange is an excellent color for the interior or exterior of beach houses, though the house may stand out in the neighborhood. This color is known to be welcoming and vital and draws peoples attention when they are around it. In a kitchen, this color is known to improve appetite, according to demesne.info, as well as in a dining room. Entry hallways of beach houses are perfect for the color orange. If you use it on the exterior of your beach house, it may be better to pick a more subtle shade, so the house doesn't stand out to much.
