The Color Picker dialog box in Adobe Photoshop CS3, allows you to create a precise color that you can use in your Photoshop documents. Find out how you can create a color using the color picker by following these directions.
Instructions
1. Start Adobe Photoshop CS3 and open an existing document from your files or create a new blank document.
2. Click on the foreground color in the Color Well, which lies near the bottom of the Photoshop toolbox. When you do this, the "Color Picker" dialog box will come up on the screen. Verify that the radio button beside the "H," or hue, option is selected.
3. Use the color slider in the middle of the "Color Picker" dialog box to slide to the color range you want to use. As you do this, the range of colors within the one color will be displayed in the color field on the left side of the dialog box.
4. Click in the color field on the color shade that you would like to use. The new/current preview on the right side of the color slider will give you a bigger display of what the current color will look like in a document.
5. Select the radio button in front of the "S" and use the color slider to control the saturation of your current color. Select the "B" option to control the saturation of your color using the color slider.
6. Select one of the "R," "G" or "B" options to control the amount of red, green and blue that makes up your chosen color. You can type in a new amount or use the color field to control the amount of these. Change the "LAB" values on the right side of the dialog box to change the luminance of the chosen color.
7. Click the "OK" button to close the "Color Picker" dialog box and return to your document. You can now use the color you have created in the color picker in your document.
