Crown Paint Thinner
Vinyl siding is a top choice for homeowners, for several reasons. Known for it's durability and low maintenance, vinyl siding usually requires no more than a powerwash. But there are rare occasions when the cleanup on vinyi siding may involve a bit more effort. Paint stains on vinyl siding can be difficult to remove, but not impossible. With the right product, and a little muscle, you can remove the paint stains and keep your vinyl siding shining like new.
Instructions
1. Powerwash the area that has been affected by the paint stains. If you do not own a powerwasher, a scrub brush and a bucket of hot soapy water will help to remove most of the dirt. You can follow the process up with a spray from your garden hose. This step is important because once you remove the paint stains, you will most likely be left with a really clean section, surrounded by a larger, dirtier area.
2. Scrape the area of vinyl siding containing the paint stain. To do this, use only a plastic scraper. A metal scraper will scratch the surface of the vinyl and take away it's shine. Try to remove as much of the paint as possible by scraping, this will make the next step much easier.
3. Apply paint thinner to a soft cloth. Auto stores sell soft terry clothes that are larger and much thicker than your average kitchen ones, and they do a better job of holding the paint thinner.
4. Scrub the area with your cloth that holds the paint thinner. This is where the muscle is going to be needed, so give it your best. Continue scrubbing until the paint is completely removed, adding more paint thinner to the cloth when necessary.
5. Wipe the area clean with a second rag, and a some water. Another spritz with your garden hose, and your vinyl siding should shine like new.
